Perronet, son of an Ang­li­can min­is­ter, de­scend­ed from French Hu­gue­nots who fled the con­ti­nent to es­cape re­li­gious per­se­cu­tion. For a time, Per­ro­net was a co-work­er of John and Charles Wes­ley.
